White Night

Ulrich is a man buried in his work. His life changes direction all at once because of an accident in which someone dies. The guilt grows with time and the order of his life comes apart piece by piece. His job, his home and his relationships are shaken at once. Then something unpleasant comes back out of his past. That thing has no intention of forgiving him. The film draws its tension not from the event but from what goes on in the man’s head. How long a person can keep convincing themselves sits at the centre of the story. The hundred minutes are given to that collapse. Lars Brygmann and Anne Sofie Espersen appear in Jannik Johansen’s Danish film, completed in 2007.
