A father leaves his unhappy job at a bank and decides to take up acting. The order of the family is shaken by the decision; the income becomes uncertain, the way people look at them changes, and everyone at home loses something of their own. The film offers the decision as neither foolishness nor courage and chooses to show both what it costs and what it gains. The account follows events through the child’s eyes, so the reasons the adults give are always heard incompletely. A small part in a sausage advertisement gives the story its name. It is made for a family audience but is in no hurry to close on a sweet ending. Johan Heldenbergh plays the lead in Anouk Fortunier’s eighty minute Belgian film, completed in 2021.
