What The Foster Brothers Is About
A Yeşilçam comedy set in Ottoman times. Ramazan, a navy man, turns up at the mansion of Melek Hanım, who is his friend Şaban's foster mother, and she takes him for her own foster son. When she realises the mistake, afraid of her short-tempered brother, she introduces Ramazan as her son-in-law instead. Then the real Şaban and Bayram arrive and everybody has to be somebody else. On top of it, a gulyabani, a ghoul out of Turkish folklore, starts walking the house at night. Ertem Eğilmez directed. Eighty minutes, and in Turkey most people can quote it.
