My Darling Vivian

The documentary is about Vivian Liberto. She was Johnny Cash’s first wife. She was the mother of his four daughters. Their names are Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy and Tara. All four speak in the film. The account of their mother comes through them. Vivian stayed out of public view for a long time. Her name was often left out when Cash’s life was told. The film sets out to fill that gap. Footage that had not been shown before is used. Family photographs are part of the account as well. There is old footage of Johnny Cash and of Rosanne Cash, along with archive material featuring Reese Witherspoon, Joaquin Phoenix, Tim Robbins, Whoopi Goldberg and John C. Reilly. Matt Riddlehoover directed the eighty nine minute documentary, an American production finished in 2020.
