What My Extraordinary Summer with Tess Is About
Sam is the youngest in his family and something has lodged in his head: one day everyone will die and he will be the only one left. To avoid thinking about it he tries to train himself for solitude, spending time alone in the woods. On a family holiday on an island he meets Tess, who does as she likes, follows no rules, and is working on a plan of her own that she is not explaining. As the two of them tell each other what they are carrying, Sam learns that the present moment can beat both memory and dread of what is coming. Steven Wouterlood adapted it from a children's novel. Eighty minutes, a children's film that never talks down to anyone.
