What Summer of '42 Is About
The summer of 1942 on Nantucket. The war is somewhere else entirely; fifteen-year-old Hermie and his two friends think about nothing but girls. Hermie fixes on Dorothy, who lives alone in a house at the end of the beach while her husband flies missions overseas. The film does not present this as a conquest.
