What My Last Round Is About
Hugo becomes attached to Octavio, the middle aged boxing champion of the town, and a relationship begins between them. But when Hugo finds new work in the city the balance between them is shaken; one wanting to leave and the other wanting to stay makes the matter larger. The man’s circle, his trade and his habits are not suited to carrying such a relationship, and both of them know it. The film does not build the relationship as a secret, but it does not avoid showing what hiding costs either. Roberto Farias and Hector Morales appear in Julio Jorquera’s hundred and ten minute Chilean film, completed in 2011.
