My Wife & the Dog

Morsy is in charge of a lonely lighthouse. The lighthouse is far from the shore. A few men work there with him. Morsy is a man past his youth. He married the young Souad not long ago. After the wedding he goes back to the lighthouse. His wife stays on the mainland. Months pass. Morsy recounts his bachelor affairs to the young Nour. The more he tells the more his own past works on him. He sends his wife a letter with Nour. Doubt settles in him after that. Jealousy makes the doubt grow. The sound of waves and wind weighs on his solitude. The film builds its telling around that inner voice. Soad Hosny and Mahmoud Moursy appear in the ninety five minute film, an Egyptian production Saeed Marzouk finished in 1971.
