Nenjuku Needhi

A police officer raised in the city takes on a case in rural Tamil Nadu. Three Dalit girls have gone missing. Two are found dead and there is no trace of the third. As the investigation goes on, it becomes clear how caste shapes the investigation itself. Whose statement is believed and whose case gets opened change according to that order. The film is not about the crime but about how the crime is investigated. The account does not go into detail about what happened; it shows the system. The hundred and forty minutes are given to a single investigation. Udhayanidhi Stalin and Tanya Ravichandran appear in Arunraja Kamaraj’s Indian film, completed in 2022.
