What Where's Firuze? Is About
Hayri and Orhan are two music producers buried in debt after a run of cassettes nobody bought. They hear Ferhat, who lives in Germany, sing down the phone, fall for the voice and bring him to Istanbul. Just as the money runs out, a wealthy and very determined woman named Firuze appears offering to invest, on condition that everyone's image changes first. Ezel Akay's film satirises the cassette industry of the period, the machinery for manufacturing stars and, of course, the money. Haluk Bilginer and Demet Akbag keep the fairy-tale side of it on the ground.
