What Never Mind the Wall Is About
In 1982 Germany is a country split in two. Nele, from the west, meets Captain, the singer of a band, on a trip to the east, and the two of them fall for each other. But the state takes an interest in the relationship, and it becomes impossible for them to see each other again. When the country is reunited in 1990, Nele sets out to look for what she lost. The film presents the wall not as a background but as a concrete obstacle placed between two people. Anna Bertheau plays the lead in Connie Walther’s ninety four minute German film, completed in 2001.
