Night Run

Dennis drives a taxi in Amsterdam and wants to set up a company of his own. One day the chance comes to buy a scarce, expensive but lucrative licence, and from that moment the direction of his life changes. The film is about the taxi war that broke out after the Dutch taxi law changed in 2000 and opened the market to anyone who wanted in; while Dennis tries to keep himself and his family afloat, he sinks into an environment where treachery and ruthlessness are ordinary. Dana Nechushtan’s film premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival on 30 September 2006. Frank Lammers and Fedja van Huêt both won Golden Calves for their performances, and Dutch film journalists voted it the best domestic film of the year.
