Nodame Cantabile: The Movie II

Nodame and Chiaki decide to separate for a while so that Nodame can prepare for a coming competition. But things do not go the way she wants, she loses patience and then falls apart. Meanwhile Rui, the pianist Chiaki used to play with, comes back. Worse, the two of them will play the piece Nodame dreams of playing with Chiaki: Ravel's Concerto in G. Directed by Taisuke Kawamura, the film is the last part of the series adapted from the manga of the same name. This instalment is heavier and less comic than the first; the subject is no longer talent but how much weight talent puts on a person. Classical performance is the film's main material and the concert scenes are genuinely played. Juri Ueno and Hiroshi Tamaki have carried their parts since the television series.
