Nothing Else Matters

At the centre of the film are two young women. One is Carla, who has run away and has high aims. The other is Lucie, who lives on the street. Their paths cross. An exchange begins between them. They swap identities with each other. There is also a baby. The baby becomes a responsibility the two of them share. The account covers the span of a year. That year decides the lives of both. The film sets its scenes side by side like a collage. Youth and an unwanted pregnancy are inside the account. The work is put together as a drama. Paula Kalenberg and Marie-Luise Schramm take the leads in Julia von Heinz’s German film of 2008.
