Noura's Dream

Noura’s husband is in prison and the divorce she has long been waiting for is very close. She works hard, looks after her children and hopes to build a new life with Lassaad, the man she loves. But the plans come apart and she can find nothing to lean on except her own determination. The film shows the legal and social obstacles in the way of a divorce and draws the woman not as someone waiting to be rescued but as someone doing her own arithmetic. Her work, the care of her children and holding on to what she wants all fit into the same day; the film shows that load without making it lighter. Hend Sabry plays the lead in Hinde Boujemaa’s ninety two minute Tunisian film, completed in 2019.
