Once Upon a Time

There is an abandoned little town in Russia. The town stands in the middle of nowhere. Only three people are left there. Two are old men living alone. The third is a woman recently widowed. One of the men wants to put an end to his loneliness. He offers the woman his hand. But the other man will not have it. He puts himself forward as a suitor too. So a contest begins between the two of them. The quarrel drags on. The account is built on that rivalry. Fyodor Dobronravov and Irina Rozanova take the leads, with Roman Madyanov also in the cast, in Eduard Parri’s Russian film of 2017.
