Orange Mittai

Sathya is a paramedic on an emergency ambulance. On the anniversary of his father’s death, he and the driver go to collect an old man who says he is gravely ill. Kailasam gets in, but he is not in the state he claimed to be; he does have a heart condition all the same. The two rub against each other over the course of the journey, and what comes out in time is this: one of them is looking for someone to put in a father’s place, the other for a child to love. The film tells a bittersweet story that takes place almost entirely inside the ambulance. Vijay Sethupathi and Ramesh Thilak appear in Biju Viswanath’s hundred and two minute Tamil film, completed in 2015.
