Our Family

The film takes up a family of four. A mother, a father and two sons. The family is in fact coming apart quickly. But nobody notices it. Each of them is caught up in his own affairs. Then the mother goes to a doctor. The diagnosis is a brain tumour. The illness is already advanced. The news falls on the family all at once. The father and the two sons try to cope with it. In the trying, buried problems come to the surface. The family is driven into a crisis. The film was adapted from a novel. Satoshi Tsumabuki and Mieko Harada take the leads, with Sosuke Ikematsu and Kyōzō Nagatsuka also in the cast, in Yuya Ishii’s Japanese film of 2014.
