What The Great Passage Is About

Majime works at a publishing house. He struggles to talk to people and has an extraordinary relationship with words. He is brought onto the team compiling a new dictionary called The Great Passage, a job that will take years. The team is small, the budget is inadequate, and the publisher tries more than once to shut the project down. Meanwhile Majime falls in love with Kaguya, who lives in the same house, and attempts a letter. Yuya Ishii adapted it from Shion Miura's novel. A patient and unexpectedly emotional film that genuinely explains how a dictionary is made.
