Out of Nature

Martin is in his thirties, a father in a small Norwegian town. He has the job, the partner and the son, and in the middle of all of it he feels like a stranger. He goes off alone for a weekend of hiking in the mountains. What we hear for the length of the film is the voice running inside his head: boredom, desire, shame, nonsense. Ole Giæver stars in it and directed it with Marte Vold. The idea underneath is that escaping into nature saves nobody, because you take the thing you are escaping with you. Eighty minutes, funny and embarrassingly honest about being in the middle of a life. It screened at Toronto in 2014.
