Pacho, the Brigand of Hybe

The film tells the tale of an outlaw. Its source is folk humour. The hero is called Pacho. Pacho is no ordinary outlaw. He has no patience for injustice. He stands against feudal oppression as well. But he does not get his way by force. He gets out of every hard spot with his wits. His turn of phrase serves him too. The account is built on those pieces of cunning. The events take place in the eighteenth century. Those he faces are the lords of the day and their men. The film was adapted from a short story. Jozef Kroner and Slavomír Záhradník take the leads, with Dušan Blaškovič and Karol Čálik also in the cast, in Martin Ťapák’s Czechoslovak comedy of 1976.
