Timber Woods finds his friend Harry Pope lying still in bed. Harry says a venomous krait is on his stomach, under the sheet. Timber calls Doctor Ganderbai, who tries several things including antivenom and chloroform. What emerges at the end is that there is no snake on Harry. He then hurls racial abuse at Ganderbai, the man who came to save him. The doctor leaves offended and Timber apologises for his friend. Wes Anderson directed. It is one segment of The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More, a set adapting four Roald Dahl stories, distributed by Netflix. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Harry Pope, Dev Patel plays Timber Woods and Ben Kingsley plays Doctor Ganderbai. Ralph Fiennes, Richard Ayoade and Rupert Friend appear elsewhere in the collection. Principal photography began in January 2022 at The Maidstone Studios in Kent. Robert Yeoman and Roman Coppola shot it, with Barney Pilling and Andrew Weisblum editing. Who it is for: viewers who like Anderson's formal games and short form. Who it is not for: anyone expecting it to end on a light joke. The film spends its tension deliberately and drops it on colonial racism in the last minute.
