Pardon My Sarong

Two bus drivers end up having accidentally stolen their own bus, and the company puts out a warrant for them. While running, they attach themselves to a rich playboy's boat trip, and the voyage takes them to a tropical island. On the island there is a jewel thief, a local temple and a great deal of trouble waiting for the two men. This is one of the comedies Abbott and Costello made one after another in the early 1940s; Erle C. Kenton directed. The film imitates the "south seas" pictures popular at the time, and does so openly. Seen from now, the way the islanders are shown carries the cliches of the period. The comedy rests on the pair's known verbal routines, with musical numbers in between.
