What Perpetual Sadness Is About
Cheba and Angeles are pregnant by the same man. The man is called Silvestre. Cheba’s husband worked abroad for a long time. While he was away she was with Silvestre. Silvestre is also the stepfather of Angeles. Now Cheba’s husband is coming back. The mother of Angeles is against it as well. She does not want her daughter to raise this child. The two women are cornered separately. There are things neither can tell anyone. What will become of the children is theirs to decide. Adriana Paz and Gabriela Cartol take the leads, with Gustavo Sanchez Parra and Noe Hernandez also in the cast, in Jorge Perez Solano’s Mexican film of 2014.
