What Piché: The Landing of a Man Is About
August 2001, Toronto. Captain Robert Piche takes off for Lisbon. During the flight a serious loss of fuel occurs and the aircraft heads towards an almost certain crash. Piche keeps his composure, glides the engineless plane down to a landing, and the three hundred and six people on board survive. When he is back in the country his past comes up; his criminal record and his unusual life story come partly to explain what he did that day. The film is about a man carrying his heroism and his past at the same time. Michel Cote plays the lead in Sylvain Archambault’s hundred and seven minute Canadian film, completed in 2010.
