What Porcelain Horse Is About
Paco’s life in Ecuador runs between drugs and the affair he keeps up with Lucia, his high school sweetheart, now married to another man; it looks like a light and charming life. One night he and his younger brother Luis go into their parents’ house to take a porcelain horse they mean to pawn for drug money. Their father catches them and the fight that follows changes the lives of both brothers. The film asks who really pays for that carelessness, and it does not lay the blame on one person alone. Andres Crespo and Leovanna Orlandini appear in Javier Andrade’s hundred minute Ecuadorian production, completed in 2012.
