Cristina and Tudor are in their thirties with two children, living in an ordinary flat in a Romanian town. One Sunday morning Tudor takes the children to the park. In a moment of inattention, five-year-old Maria disappears. The police come, the search starts, the days pass. Nobody finds anything. Tudor stops going to work, stops sleeping, goes through the footage frame by frame. At some point the searching stops being searching. The three left at home come apart under it. Constantin Popescu directs the Romanian film; two hours and thirty-three minutes, with Bogdan Dumitrache as Tudor and Iulia Lumânare as Cristina. Dumitrache won best actor at San Sebastián for it. The scene of the disappearance in the park runs eighteen minutes in a single unbroken take.
