What Puriyaatha Puthir Is About
Kathir, a music director, begins seeing Meera, who teaches music. After a while Kathir starts receiving footage of Meera taken without her consent; who is sending it is unclear, and the pressure keeps growing. While he tries to find who is behind it, the lives of both of them come apart fast. The film runs the matter as a thriller, but what it really tells is how an attack of this kind leaves the woman it targets alone. The account does not make a spectacle of the footage; it questions the reaction of those around her as much as the identity of the culprit. Vijay Sethupathi plays the lead in Ranjit Jeyakodi’s hundred and forty minute Indian film, completed in 2017.
