Radiator

Leonard and Maria are a retired couple. They live in the country cottage where they spent much of their forty year marriage. The house has filled up over time; it is packed with things and there are mice about. Their son Daniel comes from London meaning to take charge. But the old family patterns come straight back as soon as he is inside. His parents resist the help he is offering. The film tells ageing, the loss of control and the play for the upper hand inside a family together. It keeps a tone of dark comedy while it does so. Gemma Jones and Richard Johnson take the leads in Tom Browne’s British film of 2014.
