What Rainbow Song Is About

Tomoya works at a television station. One day he hears that Aoi, a close friend, has died. With the news the past comes back: meeting in a record shop, shooting a short film together in the university film club, the last time they said goodbye. They loved each other, and neither of them managed to say so in time. Naoto Kumazawa's Japanese film moves in flashback and we know what has happened from the start; it is built on the feeling of loss, not on suspense. Juri Ueno and Hayato Ichihara take the leads, with Yu Aoi in the cast. The telling makes no grand statements. The amateur short film inside the story is used as a mirror of the story itself.
