What Rauf Is About
In a village in Kars, in the shadow of a war that is neither seen nor ended, nine year old Rauf sets out to find the colour pink for the girl he loves. Zana is the twenty year old daughter of the carpenter he is apprenticed to. For Rauf pink is not only a colour; it is the colour of the courage to hope and of a peace he has never seen. The search begins with the wish to make a girl smile, but what he lives through in a grey world teaches him black and white as well. The film sets the narrow world of childhood beside the boundlessness of feeling. Alen Huseyin Gursoy appears in the ninety four minute Turkish film by Baris Kaya and Soner Caner, completed in 2016.
