What Real Love Is About
Forbach, in eastern France. When his wife leaves, Mario is left with their two teenage daughters and has to raise them alone, while going through something like an adolescent crisis of his own. Frida, fourteen, blames him for her mother's departure; Niki, seventeen, is nearly out of the house anyway. It is the first film Claire Burger directed alone, after co-directing Party Girl, which took the Caméra d'Or at Cannes in 2014. The story comes out of her own family.
