Red, White & Brass

Maka is a devoted supporter of the Tonga team. He lives in New Zealand. Tonga are to meet France at the Rugby World Cup. Maka wants to get into that match. He cannot find a ticket. Then a way occurs to him. He promises a brass band for the entertainment before the match. There is no such band. He has four weeks to keep his word. He starts gathering the people around him. Hardly any of them can play an instrument. The rehearsals go badly. The group slowly comes together. The film was inspired by a true story. John Paul Foliaki and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi appear in the eighty five minute film, a New Zealand production Damon Fepulea’i finished in 2023.
