Reflection

Serhiy is a surgeon. He goes to the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine. There he is taken prisoner. What he sees in captivity is severe. It is a place where human life counts for nothing. The film shows this part without going into detail. Serhiy is released in the end. He returns to his own flat. But the life he comes back to no longer fits. He tries to rebuild his relationship with his daughter. With his former wife as well. It is something like learning to be a person again. He is learning to be a father again too. The film competed for the Golden Lion at Venice in 2021. The director had made Atlantis before it. Roman Lutskyi, Andrii Rymaruk and Nika Myslytska appear in the hundred and twenty five minute film, a Ukrainian production by Valentyn Vasyanovych.
