Bojan Vuletić's 2017 Serbian film follows a widow living in a modest Belgrade flat with her mother-in-law and two daughters. She has lost her husband and then her job, and she decides to end her life. Deciding turns out not to be enough: what she meets is forms, queues, signatures, a phone nobody answers, a counter that has closed. The film plays that bureaucratic wall as black comedy while really asking whether she will find a reason to stay. Vuletić has described it as a fable about contemporary Serbia. Mirjana Karanović's performance is the centre of gravity. It screened in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival.
