Revenge: A Love Story

A serial killer in Hong Kong is murdering policemen and their pregnant wives. It does not take long to establish that the killer is Kit, whom the detective on the case knows from an old file. The film then goes back. Kit grew up in the countryside, a harmless boy in love with Wing, a girl still at school. When her grandmother dies he takes her out of the home she has been placed in and they start living together. The relationship ends when a local policeman arrests them. What Kit does years later comes out of what happened at that station. Wong Ching-po directs; ninety minutes. Juno Mak plays Kit and Sora Aoi plays Wing. The film does not soften the violence; what it is describing is police brutality that nobody answers for, and what it turns into afterwards.
