During Berlin's property boom, Viktor and his friend Gerry find the gap in the system: sell inflated apartments by arranging the mortgages and pocket the difference. As the business grows the speed increases, the money increases, and the two men disappear inside the machine they built. Cüneyt Kaya uses Viktor as narrator and takes the template straight from American rise and fall films. That is also the problem: the energy of the fraud is narrated with enthusiasm while the people who lose their homes are given almost no room. David Kross and Frederick Lau lead. Netflix released it in April 2020, when the subject coincided with Berlin's own rent crisis. Who it is for: viewers who like fraud films and fast rise narratives. Who it is not for: anyone expecting the film to look at the victims, which it never does.
