Rock Band

Two boys in Norway have put a rock band together and want to compete in the national rock championship. But the contest is at the other end of the country and nobody will take them there. They are left to sort it out themselves: they find a van and set off. Their families and the police are behind them, and the clock is running ahead of them. Christian Lo's Norwegian film works in the mould of the children's road movie but does not diminish its children: the decisions and the mistakes are theirs. The telling makes no enemies of the adults, only people who do not understand. Landscape and music are the film's main material. It won prizes in Norway and at international children's film festivals.
