Rock On!!

Four friends who formed a rock band called Magik ten years ago fell out after a competition and broke up. Today Aditya is an investment banker, Joe runs a fish shop, Kedar is an accountant and Rob teaches music. When Aditya's wife finds the old recordings the four come back together and everything unsaid ten years ago comes onto the table. Abhishek Kapoor made it as one of the first Indian films to put rock music at the centre. Farhan Akhtar both acts and sings his own songs, and it began his career as a performer. The story does not sell nostalgia; it shows why they broke up and vindicates nobody. The score by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy won a national award. Who it is for: viewers who like music drama and stories about friendship. Who it is not for: anyone expecting the classic Bollywood song template.
