Romeo Akbar Walter

The months running up to 1971. The tension between India and Pakistan is about to become a war. Indian intelligence picks an ordinary man working in a bank: Rehmat Ali. His one gift is mimicry. He is trained, renamed and sent into Pakistan, where he starts living as Akbar Malik, an arms dealer. He gathers information, gets close to the top, and at a certain point even his own side has to behave as though it has never heard of him. Robby Grewal directs; two hours and twenty-one minutes, with John Abraham as Ali and Jackie Shroff and Mouni Roy in the cast. The film draws on the stories of agents sent across the border, work in which leaving no record of an identity is the rule, so the names of those who do not come back never enter the files either.
