Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga

The film is set in a small city in northern India. At its centre is a middle class family. Inflation has pulled the price of everything upward. Wages stay where they are while the shopping bill grows. The head of the family is trying to stay afloat in this. The sums do not add up at the end of the month. At some point a solution occurs to him. At first glance it looks clever. In practice it goes nothing like he expected. The family lands in a far bigger mess. The cause is not bad intent but naivety. The film is built as a satire. What is being laughed at is the system rather than the people. Sanjay Mishra and Zakir Hussain appear in the hundred and twenty minute film, an Indian production Anshul Sharma finished in 2013.
