Sarkari. Hi. Pra. Shale Kasaragodu

The story is set in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. The area lies close to the border with Karnataka. A large part of the population there speaks Kannada. A state primary school teaches in that language. Its pupils are living an ordinary childhood. Days of games, quarrels and lessons. Then word arrives. The authorities have decided to close the school. The reasons are pupil numbers and the question of language. The children will not accept it. The teachers and the neighbourhood object as well. A small matter of one school turns into a large argument. Which language schooling is given in becomes a political question. The film was named best children’s film at the national awards. Anant Nag and Pramod Shetty appear in the hundred and forty seven minute film, an Indian production Rishab Shetty finished in 2018.
