What SCHW31NS7EIGER: Memories - Von Anfang bis Legende Is About
Bastian Schweinsteiger grew up in a small Bavarian town; he was a skier first and moved to football later. He played seventeen years at Bayern Munich. With the national team he was on the pitch at the World Cups of 2006, 2010 and 2014. The 2014 final against Argentina, which he played on with his face bleeding, became the image of that generation in Germany. Then he went to Manchester United, where he was not played, and finished in America. The documentary follows that road from one end to the other. Robert Bohrer directs the German documentary; a hundred and twelve minutes, with Oliver Kahn, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Joachim Löw and Louis van Gaal among those speaking. It runs on Schweinsteiger's own account; it is not a critical view but a career summarised in his own words.
