What Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story Is About
Christopher Reeve played the Man of Steel in four Superman films and was left paralysed from the neck down by a riding accident in 1995. The documentary sets those two lives side by side: the man flying on screen and the man in the chair. After the accident Reeve became one of the most visible advocates for spinal cord injury research and for disability rights, and the film builds that out of the family’s own archive and the accounts of his three children. His friendship with Robin Williams sits close to the centre of it.
