What Shool Is About
Inspector Samar Pratap Singh is transferred to Motihari, in Bihar, along with his wife Manjari and their daughter. Being honest and diligent sets him against his superintendent first, then against his own subordinates and colleagues, because the real order of the place is one in which politics and crime have grown into each other. Directed by Eeshwar Nivas and produced by Ram Gopal Varma, who also wrote the screenplay, the film is about that nexus in Bihar and what it does to the life of a policeman who will not go along with it. Anurag Kashyap wrote the dialogue. It won the National Film Award for best feature film in Hindi, and Manoj Bajpayee took his second Filmfare critics award for the part.
