What Sicarivs: The Night and the Silence Is About
A hit man is given a new job: he is to kill a woman. Everything proceeds as usual, he finds her, he draws the gun, and at the last moment he does not fire. He does not know why himself. But a man who does not do the job does not last long in that trade; now he has to go after the people who sent him. Javier Muñoz's Spanish film keeps the genre pattern plain: little talk, little music, night shooting. Víctor Clavijo plays the hit man. The telling invents no justification for its protagonist and does not try to get him forgiven; the real question stays open to the end. The budget is small and that choice gives the film weight.
