Skin Deep

Leah is an orderly, cautious woman, and after being diagnosed with an advanced skin cancer she is left alone with her fear. One day she loses her way and comes across Caitlin, an unpredictable woman who knows the neighbourhood inside out. A friendship nobody would have expected forms between them, and it pushes both of them past their own limits. The film does not use the illness as an occasion for a lesson; it shows how hard it is to decide to live. The account also keeps the difference between the two women in view; what one of them is afraid of losing is what the other has never had. Zara Zoe and Monica Zanetti appear in Jonnie Leahy’s sixty eight minute Australian film, completed in 2014.
