Snowroller

Snowroller (original title Sällskapsresan II), directed by Lasse Åberg and Peter Hald, is a Swedish comedy sequel to 1980's Sällskapsresan, with Åberg reprising the bumbling Swede Stig-Helmer Olsson and Jon Skolmen returning as his Norwegian friend Ole Bramserud, this time on a ski vacation in the Alps. The first film, Sällskapsresan, drew over 2 million admissions in Swedish theaters and, per recent sourcing, remains the most watched Swedish film in the country's cinema history; despite mixed contemporary reviews, it gained lasting cult status, with its lines still frequently quoted in Swedish popular culture. The franchise expanded to five sequels between 1985 and 2011 and a 2015 stage musical adaptation featuring original cast member Sven Melander. Who it's for: anyone curious about the sequel to the most watched film in Swedish cinema history, following the same duo on a ski vacation. Who it's not for: anyone meeting the series for the first time here, since most of the characters and humor build on the original film.
