French Fried Vacation 2

The holidaymakers from the first film meet again, this time skiing at Val d'Isère. They get lost on a backcountry outing and have to spend the night in a mountain hut. When they cannot find the way back to the resort the next day, things get considerably worse. Patrice Leconte directed, with the cast coming from the Le Splendid troupe: Michel Blanc, Marie-Anne Chazel, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Josiane Balasko, Thierry Lhermitte and Dominique Lavanant. It opened on 22 November 1979 and runs 83 minutes. Jean-François Robin shot it and Pierre Bachelet wrote the music. It grossed 11.5 million dollars. A third film followed in 2006, Les Bronzés 3: Amis pour la vie. It is counted among the classics French comedy left over from the seventies, and its lines passed into everyday speech. Who it is for: viewers who like French ensemble comedy and have seen the first film. Who it is not for: anyone who does not know these characters. The film does not introduce them and leans heavily on habits established in the first one.
