Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends-

Kaguya and Miyuki work together on the school student council. Each likes the other and each believes that whoever says it first loses; the story was built on that game of power. In the end the first kiss happened. Now the problem is different: the relationship has begun and neither knows what to do. Kaguya realises she has no idea how a relationship is carried on. Miyuki is no better off. The distance between them has closed and a strange silence has taken its place. Mamoru Hatakeyama directs. The film continues the Kaguya-sama series and the plot begins straight from where the series ended. It was made at A-1 Pictures and keeps the visual manner of the series: exaggerated reactions, a narrator's voice and a structure that proceeds by titled sections. What it treats is not the beginning of a relationship but what comes after it, the part romantic comedy usually skips. Its best strand is Kaguya's relationship with her family; the comedy steps aside for a while there. Its limit is dependence; for anyone who has not seen the series most of the characters and a good part of the jokes mean nothing. It was shown in cinemas in Japan and kept the audience of the series. Who it is for: people who have watched the series and viewers who like Japanese romantic comedy. Who it is not for: it is not an entry point, the pace varies, and the humour rests on exaggeration.
